Meet The Artist

Hey! Welcome! I’m Alex Winters, the creator of That Girl Studios. I am a resin artist based out of Coaldale, Alberta, Canada who specializes in floral preservation and small batch home decor and accessories.

I started playing with resin in the spring of 2020 after going through some chronic illness health related issues and being on a sick leave from my full-time job as a medical device reprocessing technician. I have since gone back to work full-time and balance both my shift work job at a local hospital, as well as this business. I quickly had friends and family contacting me to help them preserve flowers from special life events. I fell in love with the whole process from drying the flowers, to pouring all the layers, to sanding and finishing. I have always loved playing with flowers and now I’m excited I can help save yours forever.

I’ve always been creative. As a child I would spend hours coloring, painting and decorating my Barbie house. Making them little pillows and beaded curtains. I grew up sewing with my mom and grannie as a child. And as an adult I taught myself to quilt.

I have a 6 year old husky named Koda. She is my biggest pride. She is sweet and gentle and weird. And loves to let me know when I’m out of line by screaming at the top of her lungs. If you buy something from me a choose the pick up option or come by for a flower drop off, there is a large chance you’ll spot her either in the front window or at the gate. She loves to say hello!
